With a bit of know-how, some effort pacience, you can produce finished cakes that will turn people's heads and get them flocking to your door with orders for little Jimmy's birthday cake. We cover tools and equipment elsewhere but here we try to show some of the techniques you can use to make your finished cakes look even more professional with far less stress. Although some would have you believe that cake decorating is hard, there is nothing that you can't learn to do with a little patience and practice. If you are not prepared to practice, then just as with anything else worthwhile, you'll probably never become a true master - but make no mistake, anyone who will invest the time and effort has the capability to become very good indeed. With experience comes confidence and in this section, we try to pass on some of what we have learned over a long time.
