Nothing in these conditions affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
We endeavour to keep our descriptions of the products we sell as accurate as we possibly can and support them where ever practical with detail photography. By doing this, you can see exactly what you are buying and are able to judge quality for yourself so we hope therefore you can buy with more confidence.
You should also be aware that not all computer systems used for browsing the internet are of the same standard and can be setup differently. In particular video monitors can render colours differently from that of the original photography. Where we think it necessary we include colour as part of our product description but if you are in any doubt, please call us, we are happy to answer your questions.
All prices shown on the site are subject to packaging and shipping charges which (which we keep to the absolute minimum). These vary according to the weight of order.
All prices are shown and will be charged in GB Pounds Sterling. The currency exchange rate for overseas customers will be that which is in force at their credit card issuing bank at the time of the transaction and we have absolutely no control over this.
All purchased products are itemised on the order for your review and agreement prior to final order submission and the same items are shown to the same level of detail on all subsequently printed copies of the Order and on the Invoice we enclose when the Order is despatched.
Each Order has a unique identification number and each line item has a unique product code, a brief descriptive title, shows the quantity ordered and also gives a total value for each order line.
The Order, subsequent email confirmation and Invoice all show the total value of all items ordered, the postage charge and the total order value which will be charged to your Credit Card.
Postage and Packaging
We keep post and packaging charges to the absolute minimum aiming only to cover our costs. The postage you are charged is as shown at the time the order is confirmed at the on-line checkout or as otherwise agreed with you for a telephone order.
Postage is shown on all copies of the Order you print and also on the Invoice which is included when your order is shipped.
NB: We reserve the right to change shipping methods for an equivalent or better service at our discretion, should the need arises.
Note Also: We do not accept orders from, or despatch orders to Post Office Box or BFPO addresses.
Where ever possible, we try to ship orders within 1 working day. If you order before mid-day any working day (Monday - Friday) we usually ship the same day.
All shipping times are approximate since we have no control over the package once it has left us. Please note also, that estimated delivery times are from when we ship, not from when the Order is placed. We do not ship at weekends or during UK Public Holidays so there can be
backlogs to clear after such periods - this can occasionally delay
shipping a little. All orders are despatched on a strictly first in first out
principle, so if you have an urgent order, we suggest you call us for
advice to ensure we can meet your expectations.
Although first class post is usually next working day, it can take longer and can be affected by the remoteness of your location. For Royal Mail deliveries the Royal Mail's standard terms and conditions shall apply.
Customer Shipping Instructions
If we are instructed by the Customer to include on the order packaging, specific instructions for the delivery agent (such as the location of a safe place to deposit the package if no-one is available at the delivery address to accept it when it arrives), then we will endeavour to follow those instructions if possible but the Customer shall agree to hold the us blameless in the event that the package subsequently fails to arrive and agrees that we shall not be liable for any loss.
All prices shown are inclusive of Value Added Tax (VAT) where it is applicable. The VAT is added at the governing rate applicable at the time of purchase (currently 20.0% on most items).
Your Credit Card is only billed once your order is confirmed and is assembled ready for despatch. Our website will not normally allow you to order items which are out of stock, however, if a situation arises where an items is subsequently found to be out of stock or fails to meet our quality standards, you will always be contacted and given the option to cancel, substitute or otherwise adjust the Order to suit you.
Cheques & Postal Orders
We are an online business and so the normal means of payment is by Credit Card through our secure payment service. However, for the convenience of our customers we also accept payment in the form of Cheques or Postal Orders (in GB Pounds only). We have a minimum order value (excluding postage) for this method of payment because of the additional processing that is involved. Our on-line system will not enable the 'pay by cheque' option if the minimum order condition is not met.
: Cheques and Postal Orders must be made Payable to our parent company CometX Limited and Crossed "A/C Payee Only". We must receive your Cheque or Postal Order within 4 working days or your Order may be cancelled to release the stock for other customers.
When Goods Arrive
We inspect everything before shipment and package all items carefully to ensure they don't get damaged in transit. So, when your goods arrive, you should inspect the package for any signs of external damage and ensure that if there is any, it is reported to the carrier at the time of receipt, in writing. This can simply be done by annotating the signature sheet with the words 'Package Damaged' or similar. Failure to do this may affect your ability to subsequently claim that goods were damaged in transit as the carrier may refute the claim.
If goods are found to be damaged, you must keep all of the original packaging for inspection by us, or the carrier. Once we decide what action is required to resolve the problem we will tell you that you can dispose of the packaging.
If replacements are required, you, the customer are responsible for returning the damaged items to us and we will refund your reasonable postal charges - Goods should not be sent back using Royal Mail Special Delivery which would result in unreasonably high return costs. Once the damaged items are received, replacements will be despatched or refunds given as agreed with you.
It is very rare that a customer needs to send something back. However, if your received goods are not as we described them on our website, you think they are not fit for the purpose for which they were sold or you simply do not like them, then we will accept them back for a refund or exchange within 7 days of receipt. The only proviso is that the returned goods must be in exactly the same merchantable condition we sent them to you, unopened, unused, undamaged and with any seals or shrink wrap still intact.
We advise you to send any items we have agreed to accept back, very well packaged to prevent damage and for your own protection use a recorded delivery method (so we sign when they are received). We cannot accept liability for goods you send back which are not received or are damaged in transit.
Orders From Outside the United Kingdom
As part of our fraud prevention strategy, we can only send international orders to the cardholders address and we never accept orders from, or despatch orders to Post Office Boxes.
We accept no liability for international orders once they have been despatched, so it is advisable for international customers to use a 'trackable' shipping option which ensures their consignment is tracked through to delivery and gets signed for. We always maintain a proof of posting on international orders.
Orders which we are requested to ship outside the UK may be subject to import restrictions, duties and or local taxation charges in the receiving country (every country has different rules). The Customer is solely responsible for ascertaining if such restrictions or charges apply and are responsible for their settlement with local authorities as necessary. We as the vendor do not accept liability for any such charges whatsoever.
Occasionally the carrier or mail service is unable to deliver because there is no-one at the delivery address to accept the package. Under these circumstances the delivery service will normally leave a card to indicate the attempted delivery and may even try again the next day. After that the package gets returned to the depot and you must arrange collection yourself. If after the allowed time (normally 2 to 4 weeks with the Royal Mail, but less with carrier services) you have not collected the package, it gets returned to us.
If an undelivered package which has been sent by Carrier is returned to us we have to pay the full delivery charge again and we reserve the right to pass this charge on to you if we believe the return could have been avoided.
Once this happens you can have the package re-shipped by paying the shipping charge again, or you may opt to cancel the order. If you cancel the order. No postal charges will be refunded, however, the balance of the returned order will be refunded within 30 days (usually immediately).
We do our very best to dispatch orders as soon as we (normally within 1 working day) can but despite our best efforts, occasionally packages get misdirected in transit and can take longer than expected to arrive. You shall accept that although the Royal Mail aims to deliver First Class post within 2 days to most areas, the terms of their service dictate that 15 working days must elapse after the scheduled date of delivery before a package will be declared lost. We stress that this happens only very rarely and most packages do turn up even if somewhat later than expected.
In the unlikely event that a package gets lost completely, we shall not be able to remedy the situation until the time specified by the Royal Mail has elapsed. For further details you can visit the Royal Mail
Carrier losses are very rare because packages are controlled at each stage of the transit process. Most, if not all carrier deliveries are fully trackable so the location of a package can usually be found quickly at any time. If your package does not arrive as expected, simply contact our warehouse for advice.
All orders are independently picked, checked and inspected to ensure we don't miss anything. So in the very unlikely event that you find something is missing from your order, you must notify us within two days of receipt. You should do this through our Enquiry system on the site so there is a formal record of your notification. We will only deal with shortages notified after that period at our discretion.
